Fernando Llorente was a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao in the summer. He was expected to be part of the first-team almost instantly along with summer signing Carlos Tevez. The former Manchester City man was brought to the club for £ 10 million.
Last season, the attack used to be one of the major weaknesses for Juventus. They now have rectified this with the signings of Llorente and Tevez, but it has not been a great start for the former. Tevez has settled almost instantly and has been scoring a lot of goals since the start of the season.
Llorente, meanwhile, has struggled for form, but he has recently scored his first league goal of the season. The 28-year-old has now said that he is not worried about his poor form since he believes that manager Antonio Conte has a lot of faith in him. Conte decided not to use the Spaniard in the Champions league match against FC Copenhagen a few days ago. This was despite the fact that Juventus was struggling to get back into the match after conceding a goal. Llorente scored his first goal in the league against Verona during the weekend.
After the match, he has said that he is confident of getting on the scoresheet more often from here onwards.
"I normally take a bit of time to hit form and knew I'd have to work a great deal, also because I pretty much missed the whole of last season. In addition I needed to settle in and learn the language and adapting to a new environment is never an easy task for anyone. I'm getting on great here and feel the coach has faith in me, but I know I need to keep working to get back into peak condition," said Llorente after the Verona match.
