Lazio manager Edy Reja has said that his club have every chance of disrupting the title race in the Italian Serie A this season.

Even though Lazio will not be capable of winning the title as such, Edy Reja has expressed his confidence that they will play a big part in determining the destination of the title this season. Lazio are currently third in the table behind leaders AC Milan and second placed team Juventus.

Juventus were expected to be a major challenge for AC Milan, but the fact that Lazio have emerged as a contender as well is really surprising.

Juventus lost their momentum recently after having drawn with Genoa during the weekend. This has now meant that AC Milan are the favourites for the title, but Edy Reja has refused to rule out Juventus as a major contender.

Still, he was also confident that Lazio will be a major force in the Italian Serie A this is mainly because of the commitment and the squad strength they have this season. Even though the Italian Serie A is coming to an end, Lazio remain third in the table and will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League next season as a result of it.

"It's true that we are not that far from the top two, but we'll have to see how things go with our injuries. Milan and Juventus are superior, but if we get our injured players back then we can have our say. At the same time, we have to be realistic, as in terms of strength in depth we cannot compete with those two. Getting into the Champions League would be very satisfying," Edy Reja said in the pre-match press conference just ahead of the match with Bologna. Lazio have lost two matches in the last five.
