Juventus now looks set to lose Alberto Aquilani to Liverpool as they could not agree a fee. The Turin outfit signed Fabio Quagliarella, Alessandro Matri, Marco Motta and Simone Pepe to permanent deals this week, but never moved for the 26-year-old.

He joined on a season-long loan with an option to join from Liverpool if Juve offered an agreed fee in the region of £14 million.
