JUVE EDGE CLOSER

Juventus are closing to sealing a third successive league title after the club managed to open a 11 point advantage in the Italian Serie A following this weekend’s results. Despite this dominant position, the future of manager Antonio Conte has come under renewed speculation in the last few weeks.

He has only just over 12 months left on his current contract, and he has been coming under interest from numerous clubs across the world. He has done extremely well to guide Juventus the second division of Italian football to the top position once again.

Despite the limited time left in his contract, the club president Andrea Agnelli says that Conte will remain at Juventus for a long-term. He says that contract length is not an issue. The 44-year-old is regarded as one of the best young and upcoming managers in world football. Even though he has achieved huge success in domestic terms, Conte is yet to achieve in European waters. His Juventus team crashed out of the Champions League at the group stages this season. They were expected to go one better this time around by reaching the semifinals or even the finals.

However, now they are playing in the Europa league and will be up against Fiorentina in the last 16 round of the competition.

"The future of our team will certainly be with Conte on the bench. We started on a path almost three years ago. We began to win ahead of schedule. And winning is not important, it's the only thing that matters. My dreams are the same as Antonio's, so we will achieve them together," said the Juventus president. The club had a wobble during the months of January, but they have since recovered to go on a brilliant run that have simply ousted other clubs like Roma and Napoli from the title race.
