Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini is regarded as one of the best in the world right now. He is rated in excess of € 25 million by his club, who are trying to fend off the interest from Real Madrid for his services.
After the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti as the manager of Real Madrid, speculation has been mounting that the 28-year-old defender will join the club. Ancelotti is a huge fan of the player after he tried to sign him with his previous clubs like Chelsea and PSG. However, he has so far been unable to lure the Italian away from Turin.
Chiellini has revealed that he expects Juventus to become one of the best clubs in the world once again in the next few years. The club has already managed to win the league title twice in the last two years. Now, they are targeting the Champions League after the arrival of good quality strikers like Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente. Juventus recently suffered a 3-1 defeat against LA Galaxy in their pre-season tour of the United States. The Italian club have just begun their pre-season, while LA Galaxy midway through their campaign.
Chiellini has said that Giuseppe Marotta is keen on stressing the fact that Juventus are not a selling club.
"If Real Madrid make me an offer it wouldn't go through my head at this time to leave Juventus. Right now that there is a project on the launching pad. [Giuseppe] Marotta said it clearly: this is not a club that sells. Rather it is a club that wants to build an important cycle. Think about it: in Conte's first year, who would ever have imagined Juventus becoming champions of Italy? We have forged ahead. We aim to continue on this path," said the 28-year-old after the LA Galaxy match.
