Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has praised the impact of youngsterMoise Kean, as he came on to make a major difference in the 3-1 win over Sevilla in the Champions League.
Allegri brought on the 16-year-old with 10 minutes of time remaining in the game. Juventus had only managed to make the game 1-1 after having equalised through Claudio Marchisio in injury time of the first half. Pareja had earlier given Sevilla the lead after just nine minutes. Allegri had warned his team coming into the game that they can expect a very tough match from the Spanish outfit.
It proved to be the case, as Juventus huffed and puffed in the search of a winner. Many were left surprised that the manager bringing on the inexperienced Kean in such a crucial match. However, it proved to be the difference between winning and losing after Juventus scored two goals in the last 10 minutes to secure a 3-1 win.
Leonardo Bonucci came up with the goal that made it 2-1, while striker Mario Mandzukic’s injury time goal made the game safe for the Italian outfit. Juventus are now top of the Champions League group after leapfrogging Sevilla, who are one point behind.
Allegri is unlikely to be complacent ahead and final match of the group stages against Dinamo Zagreb."Bonucci's goal came after Kean won a physical battle in the box.Kean will remain with us while we wait for [Paulo] Dybala and [Marko] Pjaca to return from injury. After an understandable dip – psychological more than anything – he is on the up again and showing what he can do. It was a tricky game and very physical. Miralem did a lot of running. He has weighed in with goals and assists this season so I am happy with his contribution,” said Allegri.
