Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has managed to seamlessly carry over from his predecessor Antonio Conte by winning the opening two matches in the league. The opening day victory over Chievo was recently followed by a comfortable win over Udinese, which has put them as one of the three teams that have a 100% record after two games in the season. Juventus are one of the favourites to win the league title after having been champions three times in succession. More importantly, the club are also targeting a better European campaign this time around after having been knocked out of the group stages of the Champions League last season.
Allegri, who has won the league title with AC Milan in the past, says that he is happy with the performances of his players in the opening two matches, but he says that the players to learn to control the tempo of the matches in a much better way. Juventus are to concede a goal in the league this season, but Allegri feels that opposition will be able to take advantage of the inconsistent tempo if Juventus continue with it. Champions League returns to Turin with Juventus taking on Malmö FF in the first group match. After having won the last four matches without exception, Juventus are favourites to get three points from this encounter.
"It was a special night for me as Juventus coach in this wonderful stadium. I was curious to see how the night would go, above all that we'd be able to win! The crowd's an added weapon for the team and they stepped up when there were moments of difficulty. We had this 10-minute spell when Udinese had us under pressure and we've got to emerge from those situations better. We also gave the ball away in avoidable ways,” said Allegri.
